The weather was super cold, so eating stew just gives me a warm feeling \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the first time I used fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme and bay leaves. I was surprised that these herbs gives a FABULOUS aroma to the stew&#8230; it was PRICELESS \ud83d\ude42 it was also the first time, I used red wine in a recipe! wah&#8230; this is a simple recipe with resturant standard!<\/p>\n<p>Recipe found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noobcook.com\/beef-stew\/\">here<\/a>! Thank you!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.noobcook.com\">Noobcook<\/a> uses a french oven for cooking beef stew. However, I don&#8217;t have a french oven \ud83d\ude41 I used the stove to mk sure that my beef is cooked to a certain tenderness&#8230; well.. turns out that some of the beef chunks were very soft and tender ( melts in your mouth texture) while others were &#8216;hard like rock&#8217; \ud83d\ude41 That&#8217;s when I realised that I need a french oven!! <\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, the following week.. as though I missed the aroma of the herbs, I tried the same recipe with chicken ( with chicken stock).. which tasted great too!! Chicken was much easier to work with.. they all taste tender after cooking on the stove. However, beef mks the stew more flavourful! <\/p>\n<p>I used to buy instant stew mix ( in boxes) in the Japanese food aisle.. I find it very starchy which is yucky at times!
